SUSTAIN develops innovative technologies for smart buildings that adapt to occupants' daily sentiment and well-being. The project combines emotion AI, edge computing, and federated learning to create privacy-preserving intelligent building systems that enhance occupant comfort and energy efficiency.

My Contribution: Leading Work Package 3 (WP3) on Federated Learning and Edge AI. Developing communication-efficient federated learning algorithms optimized for resource-constrained IoT devices in smart building environments. This work forms the core of my PhD research on "Communication-efficient Federated Learning for Resource Constraint Environment."

EMAI4EU is a prestigious European Master's program in Artificial Intelligence, bringing together top universities across Europe to train the next generation of AI experts. The program emphasizes both technical excellence and ethical considerations in AI development.

My Contribution: Instructor teaching two specialized modules: (1) Ethics for Trustworthy AI β€” covering EU AI Act, risk management, and ethical frameworks, and (2) Introduction to Emotion AI β€” focusing on multimodal sensing, edge deployment, and privacy-aware AI systems. Delivering intensive 1-week sprint courses with hands-on labs and project-based assessments.

This work was completed as part of my Bachelor's thesis.
